“Thank you for the Beautiful place to stay. We had a wonder relaxing weekend getaway from Kids, work, etc. Now we are headed back to reality.

We drove all the way to Paradise, the snow was great.  Then we came back and relaxed in our overly warm cabin.  The stove really puts out.”

“Saw quite a few deer, they ate out of the feeder but were pretty skittish.  We would love to come back again is the spring or summer. Maybe even bring thee kids to our special retreat.  Thanks for the wonderful time.”

“Another unforgettable weekend for our group. This is our third trip here and it gets better every time.  We loved the weather and deer.  We managed to find the creek this time and it was awesome.  Thanks for making this place so peaceful.  PS See you next year.”

7-21 to 7-28 2001

“Thank you for making this trip so warm and welcome! You guys really thought of everything! I can’t wait to get home and let my friend know how great their trip here next month will be!  This week was J. & my honeymoon. We married under a canopy of cedars and now this!! Wow.  Hiking all day and roasting marshmallows here at night… so peaceful!  The perfect way to relax after all the stress of blending two families at the  wedding.  If we even have kids, we’ll be bringing them here!! The deer will probably still be here with that look in their eyes… “So where’s dinner?” I sure hope so!”

                                                                                Thanks again!

“I could sit in front of the window and watch this forever – entertaining steller jays, juncos, and thrushes all day.  What a lovely, peaceful spot – a fire in the stove and Sinatra on the cd player.

I will never forget this place- not because the local deer came by yesterday and I actually fed them by hand, but because the love of my life finally popped the question here last night.

THANK YOU for providing the perfect setting.”

“We very much enjoyed our 39th anniversary here again! The new master suite is wonderful, a great addition. We’ve now had our 38th & 39th here and plan to have our 40th.”

                                                                                Thank you.

9/17 – 9/19/02

“Its always a bit scary to book lodging via the internet, but Laze Daze has so far exceeded our expectations that we will return some time.  When we walked in the first time, we immediately felt “at home” and it wasn’t long before we began to relax from our long trek here. Not only are the lodgings perfect, the deer are amazing.  The second day we were here, we all fed a doe from our palm! That night, 2 raccoons came to nibble the wet cob we purchased at ‘Wolf’s feed store’ in Morton.”

“Our stay here was lovely. “

“We have been here at Mt Rainier for five days now. We stayed in the Hudson Bay for 2 nights and then moved over this beautiful cabin. It was a wonderful change we enjoyed, and were totally taken away when the deer came to eat right out of the palm of our hands.  My fiancée had crocodile tears as she fed them. Called her the bird lady because when she went out in the morning, she was surrounded by about 10 birds. I got the privilege to see my favorite animal up close, our friend the raccoon.  The Laze Daze Cabin was an uplifting place. Laying by the fire and lounging in the tub. This place will always be a special place in both our hearts for it’s the place where we shared so much love and where we got engaged to one another.  We made a commitment to each other for the rest of our lives.  We will be back to celebrate this.”

God Bless and thanks for such a special and spiritual place!

“What an absolutely charming get-away! We spent two nights and 2 ½ glorious days exploring this gorgeous area and being overwhelmed by the incredible beauty of Mt Rainier and this whole area.

We Loved the cabin – cozy, lovely – what a treat this was for us.  We were more than pleased with everything. We have decided to make this a family tradition! Thanks for making it a truly wonderful experience for our family!”

“We had an incredible time. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to honeymoon.  The accommodations were excellent. We enjoyed the tub, the grill, and seeing the deer all the time.  We actually preferred sleeping upstairs to downstairs.  Our two days in the park were fabulous. We hope to come back again.”

                                                                                Thanks so much!

“WOW! This place is amazing! We loved each and every detail…from the fireplace to the tub, and of course the deer feeder!  We went through 50Lbs of Wet Cob [we now know the local jargon =) ] and although we didn’t have too many deer visit, the few that did were very special to us.  Rico the Raccoon stopped by for a snack too – he was welcomed as well.  We’d love to come back (or never leave) – thanks for such a wonder place –“

When:    July 6, 2003 - July 11, 2003, 5 nights
The cabin is located in the forest just outside the park boundary of
Mount Rainier National Park. It is an area developed for summer homes.
There are some people who live full time in the area and some of the
tracks have just a small recreational vehicle located. It is not
isolated and you can see the next cabin but it still has a forested
feeling.
Nearby Amenities
The nearest town is Ashford which is about 5 miles away. Ashford has a
general store which stocks the basics and also rents videos. About an
hour away are several large supermarkets in the suburbs of Tacoma.
There are several restaurants in the area that have good food.
The House/Apartment
The cabin is an A-Frame chalet. It is in excellent shape and has been
updated recently.
Garden
There is a deck around the house with patio furniture for dining
outside. There is a gas BBQ for cooking. There is also a bird feeder
and a deer feeder (with light!) The owners/mgmt provided both deer
food and bird food.
Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas
The furnishing is in excellent shape. The living room had a recliner
leather sofa and two recliner chairs. The living room - kitchen is one
big room with the dining set located between the two open areas. There
is seating for 6 at the dining table. There is track lighting for
ceiling light and several lamps.
In the living room area is a full entertainment center. It includes a
CD, DVD, video, cassette player and TV. The TV does not get reception
but there is a great stock of videos, a few DVD and CDs. You can also
go to the general store in Ashford for current rentals. Upstairs was
another video, TV and radio. There is a telephone but the area does
not get cellphone reception.
It was very clean. In fact spotless. My mother-in-law was impressed
especially since she could not find a spider web at all.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms
Downstairs is a new add-on bedroom off of the kitchen. The room is
filled with windows so you feel like you are walking into a forest.
The windows all have screens and they have nice blinds which can be
raised either from the top of the window or the bottom.
It has a king-sized bed, a jacuzzi in the room and a toilet. Note:
this is all in one room. If there is anything that is a little odd, it
is the toilet open in the bedroom.
In a separate room is the second bathroom. This is off the living
room. It has a shower, toilet and washer/dryer. It is fully stocked
with toilet paper, soap and even laundry soap. Both bathrooms/toilet
came with great fans and lots of light.
Upstairs is the second sleeping area. It is an open room with three
beds; one queen and two double beds. It would be great for a family.
There is no bathroom upstairs and you do have to go down the stairs at
night to the bathroom. There is a nightlight and flashlights to help.
Kitchen
The kitchen was wonderful. It was recently remodeled with a new
propane standalone stove/oven. There is a microwave/fan above the
stove. There is full refrigerator. Lots of counter and cabinet space.
Toaster, coffee maker, espresso maker. Lots of frying pans and
adequate saucepans. I don't think they had a large pan for cooking
pasta, but we had brought our own. They also had a good selection of
casserole pans. Lots of dishes in excellent shape.
The only issue we had was the range burners couldn't be turned low for
simmering sauces. But the range was very easy to clean.
Problems or Bonuses
The cabin had a nice propane gas standing fireplace in addition to
electric wall heating. The upstairs did get hot but there is an air
conditioner upstairs. The upstairs had small balcony with a door you
could open and one or two windows. I didn't notice a heater in the
upstairs and some of the comments from previous visitors in the winter
said it was cold upstairs. We did notice a free standing electric
heater in one closet.
The deer feeder was fun. They would come up to the deck and you could
even feed a few from hand. There was a trough feeder that had a light
so you could watch them at night.
I really enjoyed the downstairs bedroom and the open feeling of the
forest. This might not be for everyone since you could feel pretty
exposed. But the duette style shades with top-down/bottom-up was
really nice.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Jasmers is great to work with. The pilot light on the gas fireplace
was out and they came out and lit it for us. I booked the cabin on the
web in March and paid a deposit. The rest of the rental was paid at
check-in time. They keep it well stocked and have cleaning service
come in when you leave. They have had people not clean up and damage
the BBQ so there are clearly stated fees if you don't clean up and if
you happen to damage the BBQ or hot tub. These are initialed on the
contract which is sent to you when you rent the cabin.
The cabins are well represented on the web site with accurate pictures.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
Yes! We are planning on going back in the winter. I've also
recommended it already to friends.
Things to do in this area
The biggest attraction in the area is Mt. Rainier. There is great
hiking both in the park at Longmire and Paradise. Paradise is about
30-35 minute drive. Longmire is about 15 minutes. And there are also
great hikes at Glacier Vista and Tatoosh Range just outside the park.
In the winter there is snowshowing and cross-country skiing both in
the park at at Mt. Tahoma Trails. Mt. St. Helens is also a short drive
away south of Randle. There are also horseback riding in the area.
In Elbe which is about 15 miles away, there is the Mt. Rainier Scenic
Train. It is a steam train with great views of Mt. Rainier. Just a bit
further in Eatonville is NW Trek; an outdoor wildlife park. Here you
can see deer, elk, cougar and many other NW native animals. There is a
tram that will take you through the park.
Most of the time we cooked at the cabin. We did eat out one night at
Rainier Overland which was very good. The atmosphere is more like a
diner but great food. Alexander's has been recommended by several
friends expecially for breakfast. We heard that the chef at
Alexander's is now at Rainier Overland which is why the food is so
good. Cooper Creek Restaurant is also close by and is good. In Elbe,
Scale Burgers is great for burgers and shakes. You can also drive up
to Paradise and eat at the Paradise Lodge.

"We have enjoyed this cabin so much!! It is so cozy & comfortable. Everything we could possibly need except the T.V. which in a way was a welcome respite.  The videos were great.  We came from Stockton, California to be with our son …. Who successfully climbed Mt Rainier and for our daughter-in-laws 50th Birthday. We appreciated the well supplied cabin and all the comfort we enjoyed. Peaceful and so relaxing. We hope one day to return.  The beautiful forest, the friendly deer and the walk down to the river.  Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place!”

“Had a wonderful stay. Girls enjoyed feeding the deer and walks along the river.  Laze Daze and the surrounding area – Rainier, St Helens, Olympia & Yakima. Truly exceeded our expectations. One of the highest points in the trip was a 3 hour horseback ride in Packwood. Horses were great and the views even better.  I would recommend it to everyone.  Wish we could spend another month or two here as is so beautiful.  Thank you for a wonderful time.”

“We spent a badly needed vacation in quiet and comfort. We travelled to Paradise on a glorious day.  S. did the jr. Ranger Badge while J. and M. hiked.  I enjoyed the quiet.

We also went to Mt St Helens on a foggy day that cleared enough to see the crater then rained buckets.  Didn’t care because we were in one of the beautiful places on earth.

The cabin has been wonderful! Everything we could have asked for plus! One of our Great vacation spots.

“My husband as been deployed to Fort Lewis for 12-18 months from New York.  He surprised me with this wonder cabin in the woods, so cozy & warm.  We enjoyed the deer and the raccoons. It’s very quiet and relaxing.  We hiked up to camp Muir on Monday, it was a picture perfect day.  We could see Mt Adams, mt Hood and a special treat Mt St Helens blowing off some steam.  We also witnessed 2 avalanches. How cool. I go back to New York tomorrow and I have wonderful memories and stories to tell my family.”

“What a special place! We really enjoyed staying here at “Laze Daze” – The quiet privacy, the splendid deer, and the soothing sound of rain on the roof.

Thank you so much for the privilege of being in such a great atmosphere!”

Thanksgiving Day -  Nov 25. 2004

“Sitting here stuffed on turkey, dressing, with gravy, yams, butternut squash, canberries, green peas, and too much wine.  Soon to come pumpkin pie, baked apples and egg-nog.

Sure glad we hiked a bit today.  We went up to Paradise today and had a lovely drive.  The inn is closed for the season, but it was still awe-inspiring. Lots of snow and COLD! Had to buy extra gloves and hats at the visitor center.  We had a 6 point buck at the feeder this evening. He was pretty shy, but sure enhoyed the deer feed.  Also lots of young males and does.  We spent last new year’s eve in Laze Daze.  It was wonderful to sit in the Jacuzzi tub and watch the big snowflakes fall down.  The deer seemed more friendly when everything was snow-covered.  No snow for this visit, but it is nice to hear the rain pitter patter on the roof.  We love the cabin, the scenery, the peacefulness and the deer.  Happy Holidays! “

12-7-04

“This is our first of many trips we will make back to this particular cabin.  The deers made the time go so fast.  I do believe my husband will make me move down here.  We sweat and tail all year long and how blessed we were to be able to find serenity in an A Frame.

7-9-2005

“WOW! What a retreat away for the city! This was such a well needed weekend away form kids and busy schedules.

We watch the deer on Friday night there were five.  The movie selection is incredible. (We watched a couple) We drove around on Saturday and ate lunch at Copper Creek Inn. Large portions! Go in with large appetites. Also we ate dinner at Alexander’s Country Inn. Go in there with a big appetite also!

Well we are packing up ready to go there are deer out there feeding the Blue Jays are squaking and we have to head back to the busy schedules of life, but well rested.

Thank you soo much for such a wonderful place to come stay.  We’ll be back next time with our kids.”

“Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin retreat with us.  The scenery and deer are peaceful, and the snow and rain drops at night are soothing.

Your new remodel and tub especially are really fun, and the appliances are cool.  We came here for a business retreat to plan our merger and future.

It was the perfect environment in which to work.

On Sunday we drove up to Paradise and enjoyed the sights.  We would have done some snowshoeing – but oops – we left our boots at home. No problem, fun and work a plenty!

We hope to come back – and tell friends.  Thanks again,”

“We have truly enjoyed a very relaxing weekend here at your cabin. Like a dream come true.  We have been dreaming of building a cabin and now we have some great ideas of what we would like.  Small, cozy, and elegant.  It’s amazing what little things can bring so much happiness. “

We had a wonderful time at the Laze Daze. The kitchen was well stocked
(plates, pots/pans, etc) and appliances. Living area was good size and
adequate TV/DVD/VCR. The kids bedroom upstairs was comfy and charming,
once we figured out the necessary heating. Last but not the least the
master bedroom was fabulous - a romantic, warm, cozy place to retire
at the end of the day. I wanted to congratulate you for creating a
special retreat for folks to enjoy. It is certainly one of the better
ones I have come across and I'd be more than happy to recommend it to
my friends and family. Good job! Thank you! Umesh

April 29th – May 1st ‘05

Thank-you for sharing your Warm, Cozy Cabin with us.  Staying here was SO relaxing. We enjoyed feeding the deer & the birds. I’m amazed at how many deer came up & fed at one time.

We even saw a huge raccoon one day who wanted to come inside, luckily we closed the back bedroom door on time.  I got the opportunity to pet a deer one day.  Although they are VERY timid they allowed a soft caress between their ears.

I love your new addition in back.  The bedroom is beautiful and the tub is quite relaxing. I love how your décor matches the picture by the tub.  You pay attention to detail and that makes this place so wonderful!”

You have manged to bring an atmosphere of Peace to a normal structure.  Everything in this cabin looks as though a lot of thought and planning went into it. For the pleasure and joy of it’s future guests.  The deer also add a special tougch as well.  The furnishings are quality and more than adequate. Thank you so much! See you next time –“
